Or they could put Nurse Akali on sale and promote it as 50% or whatever of proceeds will go to charity. If they really wanted to do a 'charity bundle' then why the fuck are they being all predatory and pricing the bundle an insignificant amount of RP higher than a price-tier of RP? If they really wanted to do something for charity, why not just have a charity donation link and if you donate any amount of currency you get a couple of icons? Plenty of other games do something like that. Oh yeah, I know, "bUt ItS fOr ChArItY", yeah cool buy our overpriced price gouged garbage to support charity lol :3 Akali is an old hero, a mid-tier cost for IP (or blue essence I guess it's called now) and Nurse Akali is over nine years old. While I have always thought this was scummy (and Riot has always pricefucked people like this by pricing items just slightly more than a tier of RP) I think the price for what you're getting is absolutely criminal. The RP price is set to 2615 RP, which is a scant 15 RP more than the 20 dollar amount of Riot Points which means you'd need to spend 30 dollars to buy what is basically a 20 dollar item. I'm looking in the shop out of curiosity and I see this Nurse Akali "charity bundle", which is the hero Akali, a decade old skin for her, and two 100x100 icons.
However, seeing some of the shit Riot is putting out is just laughable at this point and I am not sure why more people don't get more angry at it. I have nothing against premium currencies and, somehow, I've grown numbed to some of the more classic predatory practices. I've played the game since pre-Season 1 and while I could go on for hours about everything wrong with the game past and present, I think the one thing actually worth complaining about is the game's premium currency shop. So I've come back to playing League after not playing it for about 5-6 years.
Am I going to whine about it anyways? Watch me. Will anything change? Well no, of course not. At risk of either saying something very unpopular that won't be well received or perhaps saying something so popular that this is the billionth time someone's complained about it, I wanted to speak up about what I feel are the absolute scummy practices and gross overprices.
